Amended Draft Budget 2025/26 - Fixed Charges & City Cleaning

I do not feel that the increase on the fixed basic charges and City Cleaning charge is fair.  Especially for single income and people living on their own who use very little electricity and water, the fixed basic charges are not realistic. You have given relief to pensioners and indigent people, but it doesn't help those who are living on their own and paying the same rates and fixed charges as a family with 4 or more people in a home.

The city cleaning charge is another way of increasing our rates, which is what the rates is there for to maintain the infrastructure of the area we live in.
