EcoMissions

EcoMissions is an idea developed by a dedicated team of Junior City Councillors that aims to bridge the gap between environmental awareness and tangible action through a practical, community-focused platform within the youth. The project centers on a mobile app designed with gamification (streaks, mascots, and leaderboards) and rewards to drive consistent participation. It features: * Educational Tools: STEM kit guides, agricultural sustainability information, and a tool for identifying local flora and invasive species. * Impact Tracking: Notifications that explain the specific, real-world environmental change caused by each user’s actions. The platform creates a collaborative network to maximize impact: * Collaborative Funding: Businesses and NGOs can sponsor school competitions and community gardening projects. * Direct Governance: A built-in reporting link allows users to flag environmental issues directly to the city council. * Community Forum: A space for residents to share ideas and coordinate local projects. Moving beyond the screen, the plan drives youth led cleanup projects and recreational environmental activities such as planting indigenous plants and starting community gardens to improve biodiversity in their local communities. EcoMissions empowers the youth to fight for the protection and conservation of their local environment. It creates a platform in which the youth of different communities can be brought together with the common goal of saving the planet. It keeps the youth accountable and motivated ensuring that they grow into ecowarriors.
