PECC Staff Funding

From "Comment on Amendments to 2026/27 March Tabled Budget"

Go to the project

The UDM submits that as the ear of the City of Cape Town, the PECC (107) must be prioritised in terms of staff funding so that the centre can be able to provide 100 % service to the citizens of the City. The centre has been failing to make the targets set in the past 3 financial years with the only reason being shortage of staff and exhaustion of overtime allocations for each financial year.

The UDM therefore submit that an extra R15 million or R20 million is needed for the beefing up of the staff compliment of the centre so that they can be able to meet their service delivery objectives and targets. The City is therefore requested to consider reducing the intended Wall building Budget on the N2 and prioritise our important centre that is doubling up on taking emergency calls because the SAPS 10111 centre is failing dismally.
