sidewalks safety
From "Comment of the Draft Road Safety Strategy (RSS)"
Go to the project
The sidewalks in cape town are taking only a small part of the overall street space.
This space is used to often by people parking on it.
Passing those cars is often only possible by walking over the street. This is dangerous especially for kids, old people and people with handicaps.
Walking is the most healthy and affordable way of transport and people should be encouraged to walk more.
Keeping the cars of the sidewalks keeps the pedestrians safe and giving them the right of way on their little protected space
