Replacement of Water meters

Henri du Toit•2 months ago Residents have raised concerns about the water meter replacement project currently underway. The following questions have still not been answered: * Have these meters all been tested to determine accurate measurement? * Why are the meters being locked by the CoCT? This remains a concern where a resident needs to shut down the water supply without access to a tap or shut-off system. * Houses are mostly fitted with a City tap - meter- tap for use by owner all situated in one space. So if my neighbour has a pipe burst I can shut off the water supply. Will that still be the case? * What is the detailed cost per meter installation and is it worth the expense?

Heritage resource management strategy

Henri du Toit•2 months ago The strategy is not clear on the funding of maintenance of heritage assets. Who will fund the management and maintenance of heritage assets? An inter-governmental management agreement and plan needs to provide clear guidance and principles on funding, maintenance and management responsibility.

Travel demand strategy

Henri du Toit•11 months ago For about 20 years I travelled from De Grendel station to Cape Town by train while living in Parow North while working at the Provincial Government in Wale street. Many people use dhte same mode of transportation until the system collapsed. Looking at the slow moving traffic I am glad to be retired but feel sorry for those we sit in traffic every morning, leaving at the crack of dawn. Suggest that- Need to assess the current demand for public transport in our growing Northern suburbs and Table View area. Determine to what extent which level of government is responsible and coordinate collaboration and funding. Financial support must come from national and provincial levels of government. Execute an integrated transportation plan that takes vehicles and busses of our road network. Assess the need for taxi routes, its pollution levels, parking issues and cost carried by consumers that are already struggling to make ends meet.

Mobile trading sites

Henri du Toit•8 months ago The parking of mobile businesses should only be allowed in business areas with the prior permission of the of the civic organization involved. The CoCT also needs to ensure that access to ablution and related facilities are available with the required cooperation of property owners.
