About

The area directly surrounding the corridor is experiencing an increase in development. Planning and design of this section of Kruis Road is required in order to:

  • facilitate bulk road infrastructure upgrades in the area; and
  • mitigate the impact of future traffic on the municipal road network
The planning and design includes:
  • Upgrading Kruis Road to a dual carriageway road, from Bottelary Road to Ronelle Street, including a roundabout at Ronelle Street intersection.
  • Upgrading of the Bottelary Road approaches to the intersection of Kruis and Bottelary Roads to its dualled cross section.
  • Relocating and upgrading of the traffic signals at Bottelary Road intersection to match the dual carriageways of Kruis Road.
  • Adding of active and public transport facilities.

In terms of Section 17 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000, you can submit comments to the municipality in respect of the proposal.
