- Upgrading and maintaining NMT facilities and ensuring facilities are universally accessible
- Upgrading and installing dropped kerbs and tactile ground surface indicators for the visually impaired
- Upgrading pedestrian crossings by shortening the crossing distances, improving signage and road markings
- Introducing protected cycle lanes where applicable
The new infrastructure will have a significant impact on improving road safety for both pedestrians and cyclists.
In terms of Section 17 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000, you can submit comments to the municipality in respect of the proposed NMT infrastructure.
