Comment on the proposed time-restricted one-way road conversion of Zinnia Road in Silvertown, Athlone

The proposed introduction of a time-restricted one-way system along Zinnia Road, between Lower Klipfontein Road and Durant Road in Silvertown aims to:

• improve traffic flow,
• enhance safety, and
• create a more organised road environment around Silverlea Primary School, where there are many vulnerable road users during busy drop-off and pick-up times.

The proposal includes:

• A time-restricted one-way along Zinnia Road from Lower Klipfontein Road towards Durant Road.

In terms of section 17 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000, the public and interested parties or groups are given the opportunity to submit comments, recommendations or input on the proposal to the municipality from 11 August - 25 September 2026.
