PROPOSED ONE-WAY ROAD CONVERSION OF KENMAR CRESCENT, CLAREMONT
The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate invites residents, parents, and road users to comment on a proposal to introduce a permanent one-way system along Kenmar Crescent in Claremont. This proposal is designed to improve traffic flow, enhance safety, and create a more organised road environment around Herschel Girls Preparatory School. An area with many vulnerable road users during busy drop-off and pick-up times. By participating in this process, your insights and feedback can help shape a safer, more efficient neighbourhood for everyone. Please refer to the area map to note the proposed one-way road conversion.
The proposal includes:
- A permanent one-way system on Kenmar Crescent from Herschel Road towards Highwick Avenue.
- Parking bays along Kenmar Crescent in the lane adjacent to the school.

In terms of section 17 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000, the public and interested parties or groups are given the opportunity to submit comments,
recommendations or input on the proposal to the municipality from 3 August to 4 September 2026.
