About the policy

Our Supply Chain Management Policy is reviewed annually in accordance with the Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) Supply Chain Management Regulation 3(1)(b). Annual reviews are necessary to improve alignment with existing legislation and further enhance tender process efficiency for the City’s Supply Chain Management Department.

The 2024 revised policy aims to:

  • strengthen internal controls
  • align the competitive bidding thresholds to the national legislation and regulations

Once approved, the draft SCM Policy (2024) will replace the current Supply Chain Management Policy (2023).

In terms of section 17 of the Local Government: Municipal Systems Act, Act 32 of 2000, you can submit comments to the municipality in respect of the draft revised policy.
